Much of my larger works are outdoor pieces that are meant to nestle in small landscapes such as private gardens or intimate parklands. I try to invite viewers to take a closer look – not only to understand the shape and texture of the work; but also the construction, the re-use of used wood, metal and objects and appreciate the beauty of rust and patina.
Some pieces such as my ‘posts’ and installation of leaf forms help to create destinations. The use of words such as peace can create awareness of peace issues. And leaf forms are a ongoing reminder of the beauty and fragility of the environment.
